North Air have recently taken delivery of twelve new hydrant dispensers for operation at the UK’s largest airports.
This is part of our continued investment in new vehicles with further specialist vehicles in build for Shetland and Stansted and ten refuellers to follow for Bristol, Belfast, Inverness, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
CEO David Atherton said “The environmental credentials of the new trucks include stop-start technology allowing aircraft to be refuelled with the vehicle engine switched off and this has enabled North Air to surge forward in efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The new technology will reduce engine run-time per vehicle by 1500 hours a year, or nearly 30 hours a week, saving fuel and the environment.”
In the three years up to June 2019, North Air will have taken delivery of 42 new refuelling vehicles, which reinforces our continued commitment to being the best into-plane fuel provider in the industry. It also enables us to grow in numbers and reliability while supporting our core values of safety and integrity. I am delighted that as a business, we have been able to use this investment to improve the service to our customers.”
